This special release celebrates their first appearance together as special guests at the 34th Toyota Star Maker Final and Grand Final concerts at the 2013 Tamworth Country Music Festival.
These four young artists have been working hard in the country music industry, recording touring and promoting their music to the masses.
Their song choice suits these young men to a tee - penned by Bob Seger in 1972, it's about life on the road as a travelling musician.
The term ‘country music’ is used to describe everything from Taylor Swift and The Eagles to George Jones and Gid Tanner and His Skillet Lickers. No, really. When you hear the Adam Eckersley Band crunching through nimble rockers, fiddle-led stompers, reflective acoustic tunes and blistering country-rock, it makes a person reflect on what a broad church country music is. It also makes clear that Eckersley is already setting fire to the pews.
Adam left school at 15, and was a qualified mechanic at 20. He used those skills long enough to purchase his first PA system and a van. Both van and PA saw action in small towns across Australia, with many hundreds of kilometres between them.
Fast forward to a few years later, Adam’s music continues to develop around a wealth of live gigging experience and songwriting. At 29, he’s already seen the world and has toured endlessly in Australia and the US, both as back-up guitarist for the McClymonts (he is married to singer Brooke McClymont) while developing his own band, the Adam Eckersley Band.
