Two-time ARIA nominated singer/songwriter, Jasmine Rae, has released her first single and video today, ‘If I Want To’, from her third album of the same title.

The song was written by Jasmine and Nashville songwriting legend, Bob DiPiero, who has also penned hits for innumerable superstars, including Tim McGraw, Brooks & Dunn, Faith Hill and Etta James.

“It’s a song about taking the power back from someone in a relationship who has hurt you,” says Jasmine. “When a relationship ends, there’s often one person who wants to move on and one who wants to hang on. I’ve been both.”

US producer Luke Wooten, whose credits include Dierks Bentley’s’ Home’ and Kellie Pickler’s ‘100 Proof’, produced the track in Nashville. The song shows a more soulful vocal from Jasmine, combined with her signature country sound and an unmistakable element of blues.

Jasmine admits it has been a while since she released new music. “I feel the songs on my new album are a reflection of the journey I've been on in the last two years. This album is an honest conversation between the listener and myself.”

“This isn’t just the album I wanted to make,” she continues. “It’s the only album I could have made. I personally needed to do this.”

‘If I Want To’ is available now on iTunes through ABC/Universal Music and the music video, directed by Jefferton James, is available to watch here.

“Making the video was a really interesting experience,” says Jasmine. “It was such a unique concept - showing the last day of a relationship in reverse, starting with my boyfriend walking out on me, back through us fighting, and ending with us in a past moment when we were still happy and content”.

Jasmine Rae is one of Australia’s most acclaimed, multi-faceted, country artists. Her two studio albums, Look it Up’ and Listen Here’, have both received ARIA nominations and yielded multiple #1 hit singles and videos, including a duet with US star, Joe Nichols. She has toured with international superstars Alan Jackson and Brooks & Dunn, and in 2012, was voted CMC Oz Artist of the Year by tens of thousands of music fans. This year, she was awarded America’s prestigious CMA Global Artist Award.

Jasmine has also been at the forefront of fan-driven social media in Australian country music. She recently joined elite stars, Kasey Chambers, Lee Kernaghan and John Williamson, as one of the only Australian-based country artist with over a million plays on YouTube. Keith Urban’s much-anticipated seventh studio album FUSE, set for release on September 13th, is his first in nearly three years. It will contain thirteen brand new tracks including his newest single “Little Bit Of Everything”, as well as duets with Miranda Lambert (“We Were Us”) and Eric Church (“Raise ‘Em Up”). A deluxe edition will contain sixteen songs.

The songs on FUSE were written, gathered and recorded over the past year and half. Says Urban, “these songs just connected with me, whether for their energy or for what they were saying or just for the fact that they made me feel good. All of them have merit and even though we recorded a lot of songs, slowly this particular group started to come together.”

Urban, who will return for the next season of American Idol, is currently in the middle of the first leg of his US “Light The Fuse Tour 2013”, which will continue through the end of the year.

NEW ALBUM ‘FUSE’ RELEASED SEPTEMBER 13

The performers are locked in, the cattle have been notified that they’ll have to move on for a few days and the stage is set for a magnificent country music festival that will break new ground on the North Coast of NSW.

A tiny community north-east of Grafton will come alive in the first three days of November for the first Clarence Valley Music Muster – an event that’s capturing the interest of locals and country music fans across the nation.

Co-organiser Wendy Gordon – who will host the muster on her property at the history-rich settlement of Calliope – says it has been a long and rutted road towards the birth of the festival, but now it’s singing.

“We’ve done the hard yards, but with the support of neighbours, other locals, the media and Clarence Valley Council, the muster is about to burst onto the country music stage and become an annual event for this wonderful part of the Clarence Valley,” Wendy says.

Wendy Gordon is no wannabe in country music circles. Before moving to Calliope a few years ago, she played a major role in past Tamworth country music events, became a marketing guru in the industry and along the way managed stars like Tania Kernaghan and Adam Harvey.

Heading the bill at the first Clarence Valley Country Muster are Ted Egan OA. – who will make the trek from Alice Springs to Calliope – and Terry Gordon OAM. Terry has been a balladeer, songwriter, comedian and TV host for more than 50 years. Last year he was inducted into the Entertainers Roll of Renown – the highest honour in Australian country music.

Also on stage are Glenn Jones, Lindsay Waddington, Alisha Smith and Keith Jamieson, the Kross Kut Showband, Marge Graham, acclaimed bush poet Ray Essery, Ged and Trudy Hintz, Tony Wagner, Jamie Davis, Sandy Thorne, Suburban Country and Darrel Craft.

Be there!!

FRIDAY AUGUST 2 - THE GUILD COUNTRY BAND plus Guests (Change of Band)

The Guild Country Band is the Tim Farren Band - without Tim.

Tim Farren was scheduled to appear this night but unfortunately, he has had to cancel his performance due to throat issues.

But we will still have Tim’s great band for the night - with Leo Dalton and Helen Stewart sharing the vocals with guest artists Keith Green and Johnny Tippett (Johnny played with Country Limited, The Con Artists and The Grandsons Of The Pioneers).

The Guild Country Band played for us back in April and it was a great night.

FRIDAY AUGUST 9: THE MOONLIGHTERS

These guys have been around for a number of years playing country and 50’s rock ‘n’ roll. They always put on a great show.

Following their first radio and commercial single release Should’ve Known Better, the Adam Eckersley Band return with their second single Long Enough to Disappear. The single will be accompanied with a digital commercial release and video clip. Sneak peak of the single here : [MP3]http://itscountry.com.au/music/Adam Eckersley Band- Long Enough to Disappear.mp3[/MP3]

The video clip brings together the bands two great passions: music and fishing! The guys had a great time filming the clip with award-winning producer Duncan Toombs (who also produced their first clip).

The single release also kicks off a new set of dates for the band as they support the Mavericks Sydney show on 23rd August, followed by dates at the Gympie Music Muster including venues The Muster Club and the Blues and Roots stage.
