The City of Kingston is proud to announce that Australian country legend Adam Brand will headline the 2013 Kingston Harvest Festival. Some of Australia’s top country, bluegrass and rockabilly artists – including Adam Brand, Carter and Carter, Lloyd Spiegel Duo and more – will perform under the big top at Kingston Council’s 2013 Harvest Festival on Saturday 11 May from 11am to 11pm at Roy Dore Reserve, Carrum.

Now in its seventh year, Harvest Festival is held to celebrate the autumn harvest, originating from British-Saxon times when the success of a crop governed the lives of people.

There is plenty on offer for the whole family at the Harvest Festival. As well as non-stop music, there will also be fresh food demonstrations by chefs in the Harvest Kitchen, a Green Hub, market stalls, a mouth-watering array of food, a licensed bar with wine and beer, and amusements rides.

The festival is proudly sponsored by Leader, Hyper Group, Pearl, Kuche and Quest Cheltenham.

Hey Gang, The clip for the first single off "The Great Country Song Book" has arrived and it's for Slim Dusty's famous Lights On The Hill.

'Lights On The Hill' is one of my favourite Slim Dusty songs. Coming from a truck driving background and being raised on Slim Dusty records, it was a real honour to get Joy McKean's blessing to record it. The fact that Joy won the first ever Golden Guitar for writing the song just makes it even more special.

The track is available on iTunes now, head over here to download it today: http://bit.ly/YZ3vYi

8 weeks until "The Great Country Songbook" hits stores! Get your pre-order in today: http://bit.ly/15lZHRX

See you all on the road in August,

Travis Collins, Luke Austen, Liam Brew and Luke Dickens have announced dates for their TURN THE PAGE TOUR 2013. The June/July tour will kick off with 19 dates commencing in Sydney then down to southern New South Wales before making its way to tropical north Queensland.

These four young guys from up and down the east coast of Australia are highly respected artists. Individually they have achieved many successes on Australian Country Music Radio and TV Charts. Combined they share a total of 12 Golden Guitar Top 5 nominations, 11 Top 5 singles, 8 studio albums and over 15000 fans following their every move on social media and live shows.

The common thread they share is they are all winners of the Australia’s longest running talent search – Toyota Star Maker – the launching pad for the careers of past winners such as Keith Urban, Lee Kernaghan, Beccy Cole and James Blundell. ‘Turn The Page Tour 2013’ not only represents the history of the past 34 years, but the evolution of Toyota Star Maker into a modern day industry event. These four artists initially banded together to pay tribute to the foundation that helped start it all, releasing their collaborative version of the Bob Seger classic the 2013 Tamworth Country Music Festival, performing to 10,000 people over two shows.

The response was unprecedented, the fans went crazy and the thirst for this tour was born. This first rate stage show from these talented artists is a must see, multi-billed show. The audience will experience a showcase of each artist individually as well as collaborations throughout the show, including four-part harmony vocals from acoustic dynamic through to full band energy.

NICKI GILLIS ARCHIVED FOREVER

Leading Australian independent country music artist, Nicki Gillis has achieved immortality after having her music added to the Australian music collection of the National Film and Sound Archive. At the National Folk Festival in Canberra on 29 March 2013, Australian music legend Frank Ifield presented Nicki’s album collection to the curator of the collection, Mr Graham McDonald.

“It is so nice to receive Nicki’s albums, she really has made a name for herself here and overseas in the last few years. These will be a wonderful addition to the national collection.” said Graham as he received the CDs.

Including the albums, “On The Mountain”, “Lucy’s Daughter” and “Woman of Substance”, the EP “Always On My Mind” and single “I Remember You” (with Frank Ifield) the CDs are destined for the archives in Canberra to be kept forever.

Frank Ifield was at the National Folk Festival with LockHouse Productions Managing Director, Tracy Dann, to present a spoken word show where he tells stories from his career as a massive pop star interspersed with songs that are meaningful for him being sung by contemporary artists. The show at the festival and another one at the National Library of Australia both played to full houses and were organised by Rob Willis from the National Library.

Nicki Gillis is preparing for her fifth UK tour in June this year which will also include a short leg into Germany where her single “The Ballad Of Lucy Jordan” has experienced remarkable success. She will return to Australia in July with her new stage show “Nicki Gillis - All Woman” which will be hitting the theatre circuit.
