JETTY ROAD SIGNS WITH WJO DISTRIBUTION FOR THE AUSTRALIAN MARKET AND PREMIERE COUNTRY MUSIC LABEL, ON RAMP RECORDS, IN CANADA FOR THEIR NEW ALBUM, "FAR AWAY PLACES", IN-STORE NOW!

THE SIGNINGS

Jetty Road is proud to announce that On Ramp Records is now the exclusive label representative for them in Canada, overseeing the group's distribution with EMI Canada and supporting the band's ongoing development. Making this agreement even more special for the band, Jetty Road is the first non-Canadian act On Ramp has signed to their roster.

In Australia, the group has remained independent, but is very excited to announce that WJO will be handling their distribution across the country.

THE NEW ALBUM

"Far Away Places" is Jetty Road's much anticipated 4th album, featuring a number of co-writes with Canadian country stars such as Jason McCoy from The Road Hammers, as well as a co-write and duet with George Canyon - Canada's most played Canadian country music artist for the past two years.

The album was recorded and produced in Canada by Paul Shatto at "The Factory", the very place where legendary albums Slippery When Wet (Bon Jovi), Pump (Aerosmith), and Thunderstruck (AC/DC) were recorded.

In 2010, Let It Out, was released in Canada from "Far Away Places", cracking the Top 50 on the influential Mediabase country chart and was added to close to 60 radio stations across Canada. Jetty Road is the first ever independent Australian country music artist/act to do so.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR JETTY ROAD?

"Far Away Places" is due for independent release in Australia in early May, with the first single from the album, "Serves You Right", going to radio on May 2nd. The band will perform at various venues on the east coast of Australia between the release of the album and heading overseas on tour. To keep up-to-date, visit their website at:

Jetty Road will also be playing Main Stage performances at the 2011 Canadian festivals alongside such artists as Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, Trace Atkins, Vince Gill, Joe Nichols, Gary Allan, Sara Evans, George Canyon, Travis Tritt, Lonestar, and Ricky Skaggs.

AND FINALLY...

Going from strength to strength with the release of every new album, Jetty Road's latest offering, "Far Away Places", will likely impress anyone who hears it. With the beautiful harmonies of twin sisters, Paula & Lee Bowman, the amazing musicianship of Simon Ross and Julian Sammut, the range and depth of songs will have their fans singing along with them in no time. In addition to that, "Far Away Places" is the sort of album that could crossover at any time, with influences from many genres making an appearance!

Stay tuned...Jetty Road - taking it to the streets, not just the country!

It's taken twenty years for country music legend Alan Jackson to perform in Australia and I was fortunate enough to be at his opening show in Melbourne. It was so well worth the wait! I had the best seats I could want, my only regret is that I didn’t have my camera but fortunately a good friend (thanks Jenny) managed to get these that I have included.

When I said I was going to see Alan Jackson some friends and people at work said “Who?” … He may not be that well-known in mainstream music but with 34 No.1 hits on the US country charts, he can do no wrong for his millions of fans worldwide.

His shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane sold out within hours.

The songs and the man go together...very humble and down to earth and his voice is as smooth and easy to listen to as any studio recording. The fans were on their feet from the very first note and sang along to every song. He was visibly humbled and blown away by the crowd participation.

Throwing guitar picks into the audience, signing boots, hats, t shirts, cups - he is the true gentleman of country music.

The country came to the city on this night with his cowboy hat torn jeans and ready for a hoedown at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena. Bringing with him his band members who have been with him for many years … ‘The Strayhorns’ with great Fiddle, Slide guitar and Banjo giving that perfect country sound.

Some of Alan Jacksons well know tunes include:

I Don't Even Know Your Name, It Must Be Love, Summertime Blues, Little Man, Gone Country, Chasin' That Neon Rainbow, Don't Rock The Jukebox, Who's Cheatin' Who”, Chattahoochee, It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere, Remember When, Good Time – I am sure you will instantly think of many others!

Alan Jackson was supported by Australia’s very own Jasmine Rae described as ‘the hottest new artist to come out of Australia in a long time’ … she had the crowd in the palm of her hand with a fabulous performance.

And the winners of 'Best New Talent' at the 2011 Golden Guitar Awards-from New South Wales … McAlister-Kemp!
