Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson were thrilled to hear that their long awaited follow up to ‘Rattlin’ Bones’; Wreck & Ruin debuted on the national ARIA popular album charts at #6 and #1 on the national Country album charts where it currently remains..
With the release of the second single from the album The Quiet Life, the title of the single is a far cry for what has been going on of late in the Chambers/Nicholson household.
Kasey & Shane were invited to and attended the Americana Awards in Nashville; they performed at the Americana awards and also headlined their own showcase event as well as doing a guest spot with Emmy Lou Harris.
Since arriving home from the USA, they’ve been spending some school holiday time with Talon & Arlo and chasing around youngest daughter Poet who has just started walking.
The song The Quiet Life begs the question of wishing for a life away from the big city.
“That song is about our lives,” says Kasey. “A lot of people and couples can relate to that. We’ve all thought hey I just want to swap this life for a quiet life for a while. It pops into your mind every now and again. I would get bored. Shane would love it though.” she says.
“Absolutely. We wrote that sitting on the back porch of the cabin and looking at the mountains and I was thinking I could easily do this instead of making this album and going on tour. I could easily sit here strumming and drink scotch all day,” considers Shane.
Happily for us and their fans; Kasey & Shane are also preparing for their national Wreck & Ruin Australia 2012 tour. Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson’s tour will be one that the whole family will enjoy and is sure to delight fans past, present and the future with a playlist of songs as selected from both their solo and joint careers.
