Kaylee Bell’s new single and video ‘Unglamorous’ is released to radio and TV this week. Taken from her debut album Wayward, Kaylee is set to win over many new fans. With Kaylee’s rich, distinct vocals, ‘Unglamorous’ has smash hit written all over it.

Written by Lori McKenna and Liz Rose, ‘Unglamorous’ is a song that many ladies with can relate to. Kaylee says, "I love the song lyrically as I was raised in a family with an extraordinary strong mother and we were taught strong values and how to appreciate the little things in life"

It was these values that gave Kaylee a craving for country music that dates back to her earliest memories, Kaylee Bell’s singing career started at the tender age of 4 on a country music awards show. Her debut album WAYWARD is evidence to this appetite, which has been cultivated and developed constantly since that day.

Growing up in the small town of Waimate on the South Island of NZ, Kaylee started developing her talents from a young age. Performing at country music award shows all over New Zealand with her siblings, Kaylee had a very hectic childhood with guitar and singing lessons, school band, productions and chorales. This set the attitude that Kaylee holds today with her music career. “I love country music; it’s my heart and soul. I’m pretty determined to follow this dream as it’s what I’ve always wanted to do; it’s what I have always done. Country music is in my blood” says Kaylee.

Gaining motivation along the years from artists such as Leann Rimes, Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Martina McBride, Jo Dee Messina and Eva Cassidy, Kaylee’s hunger saw her take on musical theatre studies for 3 years at the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Art and earned her a Bachelor of Performing Arts degree specialising in Musical Theatre.

"At the age of 22 and after years spent growing as an artist, I decided to pack my bags and head across the Tasman" says Kaylee. “I relocated to Australia in April 2011, I ended up in Bathurst and I love it here in this rural setting. It has a great pub gig scene and it's close to Sydney."

Kaylee Bell is a determined young lady with high ambitions. “I dream of opening a tour with a big international act, I would love lots of people to discover my music, but most of all I want to continue to grow as an artist and make this a full time career.”

Kaylee Bell is standing determinedly at the front of the pack of country music’s new breed of female artists. Could Australia’s next international country music star be another Kiwi?
