Bill Jackson has firmly established himself over the past few years as one of Australia’s finest Singer/Songwriters. He writes writes primarily with his brother Ross.
The content is eclectic but never obvious - from love to war and everything in between. They also have that rare ability to entwine folklore into a folk/country/roots setting.
His latest album, The Wayside Ballads Vol 2 was recorded in Nashville in September 2015, produced by Thomm Jutz (Mary Gauthier, Nanci Griffith, Otis Gibbs etc.) and featuring 11 new songs from Bill and Ross Jackson. On the album, Bill Jackson and Pete Fidler are joined by some of Nashville's finest pickers - Sierra Hull (Mandolin), Justin Moses (banjo, fiddle), Daniel Kimbro (Upright Bass) and Lynn Williams (Drums) - recorded 'live; in the studio.

THE WAYSIDE BALLADS PROJECT
The Wayside Ballads Project was conceived during 2014 by song writing brothers Bill Jackson and Ross Jackson. Since the last release, 'Jerilderie' (2011), they had been writing a lot of new songs and it was decided to record 30 songs over a relatively short period of time under the guise 'The Wayside Ballads'.
An electric album Vol 1 was recorded in Australia during 2015 before Jackson headed off to the US on his fourth tour there to record 'The Wayside Ballads Vol 2'.
Everyone is super excited about 'The Wayside Ballads Vol 2' - essentially a string band record produced by Thomm Jutz (Mary Gauthier, Nanci Griffith, Otis Gibbs etc.) in Nashville during September 2015 and featuring 11 new songs from Bill and Ross Jackson. Joining Bill and Pete Fidler on Vol 2 are some of Nashville's finest pickers - Sierra Hull (Mandolin), Justin Moses (bajo, fiddle), Daniel Kimbro (Upright Bass) and Lynn Williams (Drums). Essentially recorded 'live' in the studio Jutz has created a big, warm sounding record that pays homage to 'the song'.
