Sunday 12th Feb will be a great night of music at the Yarra Hotel. The night kicks off with Craig Woodward’s Flying Engine Trio (6.15pm) playing Old Time and Cajun tunes to get feet a-tapping. Moosejaw Rifle Club (7.20pm) will then take the stage to launch their new Album, ‘Tall Tree’s Shadow’. Moosejaw Rifle Club are a five piece folk/country band with a reputation for fun loving, good time music with a dark edge. Four part harmonies over banjo, guitar, bass and mandolin move between country ballads and rollicking foot stompers with songs about alleyways and the ne’er-do-wells that inhabit them. A Whale Called Phoenix (8.30pm) call themselves a baroque pop duo, though recently their numbers have grown, so the whole crew will entertain with their original take on modern songwriting. To finish the night, the always raucous, always fun and usual fairlywell lubricated Drunken Poachers (9.30pm) will take to the stage and thump out some drinking songs.
