On the heels of her brand new album ‘Playing With Fire’, KIARA RODRIGUES will be performing at Bayview Country Art Club in an up close and personal house concert. Kiara will showcase favourite classic country songs in addition to her originals which are beautifully crafted and present a fresh, contemporary feel.
Over the last twelve years, Kiara Rodrigues has dedicated her time to captivating country music audiences across Australia. The Brisbane based singer/songwriter frequently performs at country music festivals throughout QLD, NSW, VIC, SA & TAS. At just 22 years of age, her writing and performances emulate a sense of maturity that is well beyond her years. Kiara is no stranger to the stage, with TV appearances on ‘Young Talent Time’ and ‘The X Factor’. Her major achievements include being crowned Triple World Champion (Country, Gospel, Rock) at the ‘World Championships of performing Arts’, ‘Aristocrat Entertainer of The Year’, and the ‘Voice of Urban’. Additional highlights include singing at the famous “Tootsie's” bar in Nashville, singing the National Anthem at NRL games and graduating from Tamworth Camerata (CMAA Academy) at age 10. The release of her breathtaking new album “Playing with Fire” has been received with abundant success, her powerful songs resonating within the hearts of country music fans. Kiara’s fresh and contemporary sound is equally matched by her ability to deliver the timeless classics, making her an ideal ambassador for country music.
Local Peninsula artist, DEBORAH HELEN WRIGHT, will join Kiara for this gig. Deborah Helen Wright walks that seductive alt-country line, stealing from the best of roots, rock, folk and Americana, crafting musical revelations of heartbreak, healing and hope.
2017-2018 has seen Deborah Helen Wright be invited to play at a number of festivals and feature at clubs including the Girgarre Moosic Muster, the Basin Music Festival, Bayles Music Festival, BAD Folk Club and Selby Folk Club. She came runner-up in the 2018 Peninsula Folk Club Songwriting Competition, she was shortlisted in the Top 10 for the Basin Music Festival song writing competition 2018, and performed in the Basin Festival Lady Writers Showcase. With her band, she won the 2017-18 summer season Soundbar open stage competition.
