Erik Hokkanen - guitarist/fiddle player/composer from Austin Texas, playing anything from Western Swing, Gypsy Jazz, Black Gospel, Bluegrass to Surf Rock tunes. Backed by local musicians Peter Baylor, Steve Temple and Jason Liu Soon, this will be Erik’s only show in Australia with support from Archer + other special guests to be announced.

In 2009, Erik was inducted into the Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame. It’s been said that pound for pound, Erik is the most talented musician in Austin.

Having played and taught across the US, and Europe for the past 30 years, fronting his own bands since the 80’s as well as featuring in bands with Gary P Nunn, Diamond Teeth Mary (Bessie Smith’s Sister) Wayne Hancock and Junior Brown.

Erik spends his spare time living out in hill country Texas, practising Native American survival skills and ceremonial practices, he is also regularly involved with Native American singer Joanne Shenandoah’s band and played with them at Carnegie Hall for the inauguration of Barack Obama.
