YOU LOVED HIM IN SOVEREIGN … WE KNOW YOU’RE GOING TO LOVE HIM EVEN MORE NOW … AS STEVE EALES RETURNS TO RELIVE MAGIC OF TAMWORTH

For Steve Eales, the Tamworth Country Music Festival holds a special place in his heart thanks to your incredibly supportive and enthusiastic audience responses. You may recall it was sixteen years ago when Ealesy and his mates first rocked into town in a big bright and shiny gold tour bus, emblazoned with their band name, Sovereign.

It sparked much talk and curiosity amongst punters and the industry alike. Everyone was eager to check out just who these guys were and as a result they played to packed houses every night during the festival.

Thanks to your much welcomed support across Australia, the band continually delivered on stage and record, going on to forge one of the most successful band partnerships in Australian Country Music. They had a string of top ten hits and won numerous prestigious awards, however, things ran their course and Sovereign eventually split after seven successful years together.

With a hunger and burning passion to further succeed, it was a natural progression for Ealesy to become a solo artist in his own right. The solo career of Steve Eales has been just as rewarding with more awards, hit singles and albums including “The Battler” and “This Is The Life” plus sell out shows not only in Australia but overseas.

2017 begins an awesome new chapter for Steve Eales – all the excitement of his return to Tamworth for the official launch of his new album “Love Not Fight”.

“For so long after the split up of Sovereign, I referred to the muso’s I worked with as my “new band”, until it became ridiculous in fact. So we named our outfit The Open Road and continued touring and releasing singles.”

The Open Road band features former Southern Sons member, Reggie Bowman, along with drummer Robi Parolin (who’s performed with Shania Twain, Australian Bee Gees). Together they create one of the most exciting sounds in Australian Contemporary Country Music.

“Even though we’ve toured this continent together for years, we have never performed at this particular festival together, in fact Reggie and Robi have never played at the festival at all. So, this upcoming concert is going to be the absolute best way for us to kick off the New Year”.

The two hour live spectacular will feature all the songs you know and love including “Girls On Horses”, “The Battler, “When It Rocks”; Sovereign classics “Tooraweenah Cowgirl” and “See Them Ride” plus newer hits including “Cos I’m Country” and “Forgotten Your Name”.

As a special thank you to you - his supportive fans - Ealesy, will be gifting each and every person who buys a ticket to the show a free copy of the new album.

“We’ve been together now for ten years and this will be our fourth studio album together. As always it’s the highlight of the year writing, recording and performing our new songs and it’s for that reason the excitement is really building for our album launch in Tamworth at the Festival in 2017”.

Always diverse, forever the storyteller – Steve Eales is back to delight you once again with a new sound and a new dream to chase. You loved him with Sovereign and we know you will love him with The Open Road! This is one Tamworth Festival show you won’t want to miss!
