Melbourne country band Small Town Romance are set to release their eagerly anticipated self-titled debut album.
Formed in 2013, Small Town Romance have spent the past few years of delighting crowds with their energetic performances featuring water tight harmonies, searing telecaster and tex-mex button accordion.
The debut album from Small Town Romance is based upon the musical partnership of Jim Arneman (Indian Pacific, Anne Kirkpatrick, Slim Dusty Family Band) and Flora Smith (Flash Company). The pair pooled their influences to write this record together, emerging with a diverse collection of songs that showcases their love of the varied traditions of country music, as well as a distinct voice in which they render their own stories. They shift seamlessly from Americana to Australiana, from outlaw country to tex-mex, from country soul to rock n roll. What remains steadfast throughout is the voice of these two writers who have, along with their crack honky-tonk band, created an album that is more than a sum of its parts.
With Jamie Argent-Jones (The Spokesman) on telecaster guitar, Alics Gate-Eastley on bass (The T-Bones, Duncan Philips & the Long Stand), Daniel Brates (the tailor birds) on drums, led by Jim Arneman on vocals and guitar and Flora Smith on vocals and button accordion, Small Town Romance will have you marveling at their song craft one minute and dragging your partner up to two step the next!
Come and help Small Town Romance celebrate the release of this debut album where they will be Joined on the night by local charmers Tom Dockray & The Dockadoodledoos.
