Some of the best international alternative country music acts will band together for the Comes A Time 2016 festival on Saturday 22nd October at the Rosemount Hotel alongside some fine local talent.
Texan born and raised Robert Ellis recently released his self-titled album that excited critics, with NPR labelling his work as “musically daring and beautiful”. This year, Robert will be joined by his stellar band of musical brothers.
Canadian songstress Lindi Ortega, described by The Guardian as “southern Americana with emotional heft,” makes a welcome return to Australia for the first time since 2014. That year she left audiences wanting more and 2016 will be no different.
Chicago born and raised Joe Pug also makes a long overdue return having not been Down Under since 2012. In that time Joe wrote, recorded and released his third and critically acclaimed album Windfall in 2015. On release it was met with high praise, with The Australian describing it as “absolutely brilliant.”
While Joshua Hedley has toured Australia with Justin Townes Earle and Jonny Fritz and co-headlined with Willie Watson, he’ll be stepping on stage front and centre as the star of his own show for Comes A Time 2016.
The Justin Walshe Folk Machine offers a musical experience somewhere between a campfire yarn, sea shanty, bush poetry and country rock hoedown. The cinematic flourishes and impressive sound effects have the critics raving.
Comes A Time 2016 will debut on Saturday October 22 at the Rosemount Hotel with an international line up that that is to impress.
