Australian roots music icon Bill Chambers and award-winning Victorian singer-songwriter Lachlan Bryan are teaming up for a very special show at Maker + Co on Saturday 8 October!
Despite collaborating on record, this is the first time that the two have toured together and we are thrilled to be welcoming them to Bunbury for an intimate Good Nights gig.
Bill Chambers spends much of his time on the road as multi-instrumentalist in daughter Kasey’s band, but his career as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, producer and band-leader of The Dead Ringer Band has made him a loved and respected figure all over the world. Bill’s new album Cold Trail was released earlier this year and has met with critical acclaim – Rhythms describing it as a “a fine record from the master of Australian country music”. The Bella Union show will be one of the few times Bill has gotten to perform the record with a full band.
Lachlan Bryan emerged in 2010 as frontman of Melbourne alt-country band The Wildes. Their records have met with critical acclaim and 2014 release Black Coffee took out The Age Music Victoria Award for Best Country Album as well as the Golden Guitar for alt-country album of the year. Lachlan has spent the last four years touring the world, opening for the likes of John Hiatt, Steve Earle, Joan Armatrading, Dave and Phil Alvin, Paul Thorn and The North Mississippi Allstars, as well as appearing on festivals from Bluesfest to The Gympie Muster.
“It’s hard to think of anyone in music that I have more respect for than Bill”, says Lachlan, “as a songwriter and as a performer he is really captivating – and he’s also a great mentor and friend to people like me. He’s like a Sherpa showing us all how to navigate the music world without losing credibility – or our souls!”
