Be sure to catch Lady Antebellum in your capital city later this year during their "Own The Night" world tour. Details are also listed in ItsCountry's gig guide. Lady Antebellum Composed of Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood and Hillary Scott must have genes to account for their success; that plus some social networking. Scott is the daughter of country music artist Linda Davis and Kelley's brother is pop and country artist Josh Kelley. It's ironic, though, that Kelley who twice didn't make the cut at American Idol performed on the program's results show in 2010 as part of Lady Antebellum, already a chart-topping group at the time.

Kelley talked his classmate Haywood to move to Nashville in 2006 so they could become songwriters. Scott spotted Kelley on MySpace and wound up joining him and Haywood to form Lady Antebellum in the same year. Finding a name for the group was just as serendipitous. The trio was taking photographs of pre-Civil War homes which are referred to as “antebellum” homes when one of them suggested it as a name for their group.

Starting out with performances in local clubs, Lady Antebellum performed on a Jim Brickman single which made it to the Billboard adult contemporary charts. Their solo single released in 2008 climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts while the album hit No. 1 on the Top Country Albums charts. In 2009, the RIAA certified the album as Platinum for selling over 1 million copies in the United States.

More recently, Lady Antebellum has recorded hits that placed high on the Billboard Hot Country Songs, Hot 100 and Hot Adult Contemporary charts in 2009 and 2010. Their album “Hello World” made No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums charts before being certified Platinum by the RIAA. The group has gone on tour and performed at special events like the 2010 World Series where they sang the national anthem and the 44th Annual Country Music Awards. The award-winning groups Own the Night 2012 world tour wrapped up its North American circuit and will see them perform before sell-out crowds in Europe, as well as Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in Australia. They have had to add an extra night at the Opera House because of overwhelming demand.

Awards have come aplenty for Lady Antebellum. Starting with a CMA New Artist of the Year award and the Top New Duo or Group award from the Academy of Country Music in 2008, the group has been nominated over and over for Grammy Awards, winning five at the 53rd Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and Record of the Year among others in 2009. In 2010, the CMA awarded the Single of the Year Award to Lady Antebellum for the second consecutive year – the first time it has ever done so in its history. This was followed by the Top Vocal Group award at the 2012 ACM Awards.

The fans of Brantley Gilbert have so much enthusiasm for his unique sound that they're known as the BG Nation. His Facebook page is visited by 7 million people every month and he ranks No.1 on MySpace music charts for Country and Southern Rock with over 16 million total song plays. Gilbert grew up listening to country music in Jefferson, Georgia, USA where he was born on January 20, 1985. He was also exposed early on to Southern rock bands and this blend of country and Southern Rock has given Gilbert's songs and shows a style all their own.

In 2004, a car accident that almost cost him his life prompted Gilbert to devote himself to music. In his own words, he said, “I've realized that life can be very short … If you're gonna live, do something with it. Make it great.” Gilbert started on stage, playing acoustic sets in various places around his hometown. His fans wanted more so Gilbert moved to a high-energy performance that's Country+Rock+Soul.

His fans pushed Gilbert to move to Nashville where he signed up with Warner Chappell Publishing to come up with his debut album Modern Day Prodigal Son. The Best of Me, a song from this album was recorded by the multi-awarded Jason Aldean and included in his album Wide Open. Gilbert's second album Halfway to Heaven reached No. 2 on iTunes Country Album charts and No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Album chart. His song My Kinda Party became the title of Aldean's platinum album and was a No. 1 hit for Aldean. Gilbert feels a close affinity for Aldean, who also hails from Georgia, and wrote the superstar's latest single Dirt Road Anthem.

In 2011, Gilbert released a deluxe edition of Halfway to Heaven with additional tracks under The Valory Music Company which also handles superstars like Reba, Justin Moore and Jewel. His first single with Valory, Country Must Be Country Wide, climbed to the Top 40 at Country radio and another single, You Don't Know Her Like I Do, became his second No. 1 Hit. Both songs have been certified Gold.

Meanwhile, the BG Nation marches on in ever-increasing numbers with growing enthusiasm. Sold-out concerts and the rising number of tours attest to this. Even the Social Security Administration reports that “Brantley” was the fastest-growing of the Top Baby Boy Names in 2011 and ascribes this partly to the popularity of Brantley Gilbert and his music.

Brantley is currently supporting Toby Keith on many of his Live in Overdrive Tour gigs.

KENNY ROGERS

A ground breaking recording artist, distinctive vocalist and consummate entertainer, Kenny Rogers has enjoyed great success during his storied career of nearly five and a half decades.

Kenny has charted a record in each of the last 7 decades (50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s, 2010’s). He has recorded 24 No. 1 songs and 12 No. 1 albums. The first country artist to consistently sell out arenas, he has played to millions of fans around the world.

His smash hit, The Gambler, spawned five movies (starring Kenny in the title role as Brady Hawkes) to become the longest-running mini-series in the history of American television.

GLEN CAMPBELL

Glen has 9 Grammy Awards including this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award and won 4 in 1967 alone - the first artist to win the Country and Pop States in the same year. Glen was inducted into the 2005 Country Music Hall of Fame.

As a young session guitarist in the 60’s Glen contributed to the hits of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & The Beach Boys. When Brian Wilson famously chose to stop touring, Glen served as his replacement on the road.

A public disclosure was made last year that Glen was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and so far, this has not affected his performances although this tour Down Under may be his last.
