Carpenter Caswell, are a new duo, but in name only. Allan Caswell is an Australian artist that needs no introduction. Arguably Australia’s most recorded songwriter in any genre, his career spans over 4 decades in the country music world. The Weeping Willows are a wonderful Melbourne based duo that are going from strength to strength. Drawing on folk, bluegrass and country music, combined with great songwriting and a unique combination of the voices of Laura Coates and Andrew Wrigglesworth, the band celebrated their first Golden Guitar nominations this year for their album “Before Darkness Comes A-Callin’”. Their always captivating videos from the album have seen them become a staple on the Country Music Channel, and a rigorous touring schedule around the country over the last 18 months has seen their live show evolve into a potent display of contemporary Alternative Country.
Katie Brianna has been busy this year, following up the success of her Golden Guitar nominated album “Victim or Heroine” with a solid array of touring up and down the East Coast both in solo and full band mode. With one of the most captivating and compelling voices in the Alternative Country realm, her songwriting has started to find an audience across the country thanks to good successes with the first 3 singles from the album.
This show promises to be one of the highlights of the Melbourne Alternative Country calendar, with 3 acts at the top of their game, showcasing great music from their newest album. A show not to be missed! Tickets $20 from the venue.
