In 2007 when Allan Caswell won his sixth Golden guitar inTamworth (with Drew McAlister for “Vocal Collaboration OfThe Year”), it marked 27 years since his first Golden Guitarin 1980. In the years in between Allan has experienced thehighs and lows of a very successful and hugely variedcareer … His song “On the Inside” (the theme for thetelevision “Prisoner”) reached No.1 in Australia and NewZealand, No.3 in England and made the Country Charts inthe USA (his own version was a top 20 country hit in Europein 2004) At last count, Caswell has had well over 900 songspublished and over 500 recordings of his songs releasedworld wide by artists of the calibre of Cilla Black, The IrishRovers, Patti Page, Slim Dusty, James Blundell and TheLiving End
