Influenced by the likes of Gram Parsons and Wilco, Scottish-born, Melbourne-based singer/songwriter Duncan Phillips founded Duncan Phillips & The Long Stand in 2013. Since then the band has enjoyed success on the Melbourne live music circuit and performed on nationally broadcast radio stations including PBS and 3RRR. Having supported Steve Earle before leaving Scotland in 2010 Duncan decided music had to become more than a hobby. After experiencing Melbourne on a working holiday he decided to make it home due to the city’s vibrant music scene. Now regulars on the Melbourne gig circuit and radio stations Duncan Phillips & The Long Stand bring their own brand of pop infused alt-country to tales of love, loss and hope with their impressive debut album “The Wilderness.”
