8 Ball Aitken, Kristy Cox and Greg Storer are among the finalists in APRA's 2011 Professional Development Awards.
The Australasian Performing Right Association offers the awards every two years in conjunction with music organisations and institutions to give new artists a leg up during the early stages of their careers.
A record number of submissions were received this year, with the finalists whittled down from 2500 to almost 250 in the categories of:
