Unfortunately for many of us we will not be able to view The Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) 2012 Golden Guitar Awards on television. There has been much talk of this happening and now it has been confirmed.
Prime 7 News reported recently that CMAA Chairperson Joan Douglas said the Association had to make funding cuts and for 2012 it would be focusing on the Awards stage presentation. However future awards could well be televised again. Radio broadcasts should continue as usual.
It is understood that production costs involved in mounting an Awards television broadcast had spiraled during the 2000s creating enormous financial challenges for the Association.
